China and India hold military-to-military talks on border conflict

On June 23, the Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed that the Chinese and Indian militaries held an 11-hour military-ministerial

meeting on June 22, the first such meeting since the Galwan Valley incident on June 15.

During the meeting, on the basis of the consensus reached at the first military chiefs' meeting, the two sides had a frank and

in-depth exchange of views on prominent issues in current border control and agreed to take necessary measures to cool down

the situation.According to Indian media reports, at the meeting, the Indian side proposed to the Chinese side the withdrawal of

troops from the north bank of Bangong Lake, the withdrawal of troops from the Galawan Valley and the readiness of the Indian

army for all-out war.After the Incident in the Galewan Valley, both sides continued to deploy heavy troops to the border.
